2005: a special year
The 2005 March of the Living will be an historic event.

In honour of the 60th anniversary of V-E Day, the day signifying the end of WWII in Europe, the March of the Living will be sending the largest delegation to Poland in the history of the program. On May 5, 2005, Holocaust Remembrance Day, 18,000 men and women — young and old, Jew and non-Jew, Holocaust survivor and WWII veteran — will gather together in Auschwitz-Birkenau to stand united against hatred and prejudice. Not only does this event carry great historical significance — it may be the last opportunity for such large numbers of survivors to assemble in Poland to remember the Shoah.

Adults who are interested in experiencing the educational and emotional journey of the March of the Living are also eligible to participate in this year’s unique program. For information on the various trips available for adults, please contact Shauna Waltman at swaltman@uiafed.org.
