I´d like to let all the Aussies and Canadians know that I´m thinking of them in Israel (especially bus 3!). Poland was an unbelievable experience for me, as it was for everyone else, and I thank all who I shared it with for being the amazing people that they are. I´m certain that with the same intensity of emotion you are now celebrating in Eretz Yisrael.

Dear Fern and Fellow Marchers:
We were happy to see the Internet images which show your safe arrival in Israel. The look on everyone's face clearly reflects the change in mood of all the marchers, from somber to joyous. Yom Ha'atzmaut and the creation of the State of Israel has probably taken on a new significance. Enjoy and be proud!

Dearest Jessica (Pollack) and Fellow Marchers:
We have all been inspired by your journey which has spanned not only miles but also generations. You have, in a few days, retraced the fall and rise of a people. The freedom that you now feel in Eretz Yisroel tells you that you are "home" spiritually and at the centre of the Jewish universe. Enjoy the goodness and warmth of that freedom and always strive to keep it in the core of your souls....for it is your birthright.
With all of our Love,
Penny, Shelly, and Adam Pollack (Toronto, CANADA) |
Dear Keren
I have been following the March with a tear in my eye, a lump in my throat and a heavy beating heart. I sit here and feel proud that you are taking part in such a magnificent event with other like-minded people from around the world and that you will be able to go forward through life with all that knowledge in your head. You look very happy in the picture on the website and from what your Mother, Father, Sister and Brother say, you are happy.
Love

Dear Jessica Pollack and Friends:
We have spent the last week "looking over your shoulders" at the wonderful internet images that have made us so tearful at times that we could only imagine the depths of your thoughts and feelings. But now you have arrived at a better place, just as your grandparents and/or parents did some years ago. You have left the cold, dark sadness of Poland and, like those before you, have "reached the Promised Land". Enjoy and celebrate the freedom that you now feel as you begin to fully appreciate the long chain in which you are now a stronger link!
We love you all and are honoured to be with you in spirit during this remarkable adventure.
Shelly, Penny, and Adam Pollack (Toronto, Canada)

Marissa:
Your telephone call home from the foothills of Jerusalem made us feel like we had just won the lottery. You have accomplished so much in such a short time. An unforgettable and emotional journey with memories that will last a lifetime.Travelled from the horrors inflicted on the Jewish people to a land that became a home and a future for hundreds of thousands more. From tears to joy.We are inspired by your strength and your family is proud of your determination to retrace the sorrows of the past and now carry forward good times and a strong future. Have a safe trip home.

Dear Rachel: You and your fellow marchers are an inspiration to us all. We feel very emotionally connected to you and the March. In this time of crisis, we are very proud that you are showing solidarity with Israel and after Poland it is so clear why we must stand up for Israel. We love you and wish you a great rest of your trip.
Love, Dad, Mom and Jason |
Dear Jill,
I am constantly checking the pictures to see if you are holding the rat pellets near and dear to your heart. But alas, there is no sign of the little darlings. We are thinking of you daily, and want to hear all the stories.
Lots of love,
Susan, Harvey, Davina And Zachary

Dear Elisa:
Daddy, Jaime and I have followed your incredible journey and we are very proud of the way you and the other marchers demonstrated your strong support and beliefs in our faith. Your grandparents admire your strength and willpower to set foot in a land that destroyed their families. Your return to Poland showed the world that the Nazis and theirs supporters were unsuccessful and we as a nation continue to thrive and grow. When you embarked on your flight to Eretz Israel you must have felt the same enthusiasm and relief our people felt so many years ago. I heard it in your voice when you exclaimed "I'm so happy to be in Israel. I love it here!". We saw it in the faces of the marchers. The anguish and despair that you felt in Poland disappeared when you arrived in Israel. Keep smiling and enjoy every minute in Israel!

Dear Samantha Hollinger,

Stephie (Stew),
I have been following your progress through Poland all week and to think that you have been experiencing all this is beyond me. I'm so happy I had the chance to talk to you from Israel. I hope you're having an amazing time. I can't wait to hear every detail about Poland and Israel when you come home. I miss you more than anything. Love you so much,
Michie (Toronto) See you soon! |
Dear Fern:
We were so happy to see pictures of you and your friends on our new computer as you take this unique journey. To think that you stood at Treblinka, where so many of your family perished, and were then able to travel to Israel to celebrate the anniversay of its creation is unbelievable. We are proud of you and wish you a safe return.
Love,
Bubby Shirley and Zaida Alec Ogden |
Dear Alana,
We all miss you and are living your journey through the technology of the internet. You can thank Justin for this, as he was instrumental in its development and has been a mover and shaker in its growth.
It is ironic how the skies turned from grey to blue as you travelled from Poland to Israel. We are thrilled to see the your photos also change back to your beautiful smile, the way we know you.
We look forward to sharing your stories and photos of the downs and ups from the rich learning experience that your trip has rewarded you with.
All our love,
Uncle Larry, Auntie Bonnie, Brian, Eric, Judy and the amazing Justin. |
